Julie Ford, LPC

Associate Counselor

Early in her life, Julie knew that she wanted to help others as a result of her own life experiences.  She has been blessed to sit across from and alongside several loving and caring counselors who poured into her and taught her about God’s love and grace.  Sharing these truths and showing compassion towards others is at the core of Julie’s guiding principles.  Helping others build a loving community so they are not left walking through life alone is essential.

Julie grew up in Longview and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.  She then moved back to East Texas and earned her Master of Science in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Texas at Tyler.  She became licensed by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2007.  Since that time, she has had the privilege to work in several different settings including an adolescent drug rehab facility, a geriatric counseling program and as a counselor in an HIV clinic.  Along with her work at Hope Road, Julie also counsels children and adolescents at Community Healthcore.

Julie has received training in cognitive behavior therapy and trauma-focused CBT.  She specializes in working with teens and adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, family issues, and trauma.  Julie recognizes that there are transitional periods in everyone’s life that can be difficult to navigate, and she thrives in helping others walk through those times.

She has been married to her husband Gary since 2004, and they have two beautiful children.  During her free time Julie can be found enjoying community with family and friends all over Longview!
