July - September: Sabbath

Someone has said that to practice Sabbath means to “enjoy one day to pray and play.” That means that one day per week, you take a break to pay attention to the Lord, to what’s happening in your soul, and to do the things that “refill your bucket.” We live in a workaholic society. Sabbath reminds us that we can rest because God is in control. Sabbath is like “the gift of a snow day once a week,” a gift God gives us to enjoy himself and his creation so that we continue to serve him faithfully.
