WHAT HE’S DONE

(By Passion)

VERSE 1

See on the hill of Calvary

My Savior bled for me

My Jesus set me free

Look at the wounds that give me life

Grace flowing from His side

No greater sacrifice

CHORUS

What He’s done

What He’s done

All the glory and the honor to the Son

My sins are forgiven

My future is Heaven

I praise God for what He’s done

VERSE 2

Sing for the freedom He has won

Even death is dead and done

His life has overcome

Speak say the Name above all names

Over every broken place

He is risen from the grave

CHORUS

VERSE 3

Now on a throne of majesty

The Father’s will complete

He reigns in victory

Sing hallelujah to the King

He is worthy to receive

All the worship we can bring

REDEEMED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB

(By People and Songs)

VERSE 1

I went down to the crimson river

Left my burdens on the shore

I went down a sinner, came up a saint

Died with Christ, now I’m reborn

VERSE 2

Yes, He washed me in His mercy

And He cleansed me with His blood

Now I stand complete, I have been set free

I found life there in the flood

CHORUS

Not the same, I am changed

Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb

By His grace, I am saved

I’m His child, forever, I am

Hallelujah

Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb

VERSE 3

Now I have the living water

From the well that won’t run dry

All the pangs of life have been satisfied

By the precious blood of Christ

CHORUS

VERSE 4

When it’s time to cross that river

I will shine in glorious light

When He calls me home, I’ll fall at His throne

And forever worship Christ (x3)

CHORUS 2

Not the same, I am changed

Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb

By His grace, I am saved

I’m His child, forever, I am

Not the same, I am changed

Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb

By His grace, I am saved

I’m His child, forever, I am

ENDING

Hallelujah,

Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb

LIVING HOPE

(By Phil Whickham)

VERSE 1

How great the chasm that lay between us

How high the mountain I could not climb

In desperation I turned to heaven

And spoke Your name into the night

PRECHORUS 1

Then through the darkness Your loving-kindness

Tore through the shadows of my soul

The work is finished the end is written

Jesus Christ my living hope

VERSE 2

Who could imagine so great a mercy

What heart could fathom such boundless grace

The God of ages stepped down from glory

To wear my sin and bear my shame

PRECHORUS 2

The cross has spoken I am forgiven

The King of kings calls me His own

Beautiful Savior I’m Yours forever

Jesus Christ my living hope

CHORUS

Hallelujah praise the One who set me free

Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me

You have broken every chain

There’s salvation in Your name

Jesus Christ my living hope

VERSE 3 (x2)

Then came the morning that sealed the promise

Your buried body began to breathe

Out of the silence the Roaring Lion

Declared the grave has no claim on me

TAG

Jesus Yours is the victory

CHORUS (X2)

TAG

Jesus Christ my living hope

Oh God You are my living hope

SERMON NOTES : Easter Sunday, 2022

THE FULLNESS OF EMPTY

On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark. She saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb. So she went running to Simon Peter and to the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said to them, “They’ve taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they’ve put him!”

At that, Peter and the other disciple went out, heading for the tomb. The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and got to the tomb first. Stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. Then, following him, Simon Peter also came. He entered the tomb and saw the linen cloths lying there. The wrapping that had been on his head was not lying with the linen cloths but was folded up in a separate place by itself. The other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, then also went in, saw, and believed. John 20:1-8

1. AN EMPTY MANGER: So Jesus could fill the world with the knowledge of God.

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord’s glory, as the water covers the sea. Habakkuk 2:14

2. AN EMPTY CROSS: So Jesus could pay for our sins in full.

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree; so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness. 1 Peter 2:24

Now I want to make clear for you, brothers and sisters, the gospel I preached to you, which you received, on which you have taken your stand  and by which you are being saved, if you hold to the message I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.  For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,  that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

3. AN EMPTY TOMB: So Jesus can fill us with the hope of Heaven.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1:3‐4
