Senior Counselor

Russell grew up at Mobberly Baptist Church and has been serving in a part time counseling role since 2013.  Russell received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from East Texas Baptist University.  He then earned a Master of Arts in Religious Education and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Russell began his counseling career at Tarrant County MHMR in Fort Worth before moving back to Longview to work with Community HealthCore for 17 years in multiple roles, including Caseworker, Program Manager, Therapist, and then Director of Crisis Services.

Russell is a Licensed Professional Counselor and also a supervisor of LPC interns. He has been providing biblically-based counseling for individuals, married or engaged couples, and families. Russell addresses many issues including anxiety, depression, marriage conflict, grief/loss, suicidal ideations, communication, parenting skills, addiction, and personal growth. 

Russell has been married to Keri for 22 years and they have three daughters.
