Watchmen Testimony – Keith and Terry Holman

Mobberly   -

As a watchman stands guard for the protection of his city, these prayer warriors commit to praying for one hour every week, at the same time, for God to move mightily through Mobberly. A person’s hour on the “wall” is spent in the privacy of his or her home, office, or wherever he or she may be at the chosen hour. For more information, contact [email protected].

Recently, Greg Martin had the opportunity to ask some questions to Keith and Terry Holman about their participation in the Watchmen on the Wall and how they have seen God move within their time participating in this ministry.

What does prayer mean too you in your personal life?

Prayer is one of the greatest privileges we have as Christians. It is a vital part of walking with God and seeking His will for our lives. Prayer gives us a direct line to God to bring our needs to Him with the full assurance He will hear and answer our prayers.

‌What encouraged you to become a part of the Watchmen intercessory prayer ministry?

Prayer is a discipline, like so many aspects of our Christian walk. Having a set time each Monday evening to pray specifically for our church helps us to keep prayer as a priority and not allow other things to take the place our prayer time.

‌How does your participation in the Watchmen ministry fit into the flow of your weekly life?

The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. God wants us to walk closely with Him and to maintain our focus on Him and His Word. The Watchmen ministry is a reminder to us the importance of daily prayer.

‌How has the Watchmen prayer ministry helped you to grow spiritually?

True spiritual growth can only come from God’s Spirit working within us.  When we seek God through prayer, His Spirit works in us to produce His fruit and He leads us along the right paths for His name’s sake. (Psalms 23:3)

‌What impact do you believe your prayers (and the prayers of all Watchmen) have had on the ministries of Mobberly?

We believe God is pleased when His children come before Him in prayer. He is a gracious Father who desires good things for us. The ministries of Mobberly Baptist Church are specifically focused on sharing the good news of Jesus with others and equipping believers to be better disciples of Christ. God honors ministries that align with His commands for His Church. Our prayers for the ministries of MBC enable those ministries to be effective.

‌Why would you encourage someone to participate in the Watchmen prayer ministry?

The prayer ministry benefits our church by seeking God’s blessing on our efforts to follow His plans, but equally important is the personal growth we can see in our own lives through being faithful to God’s commands to pray. The more we seek Him, the more we will grow in our relationship with Him.
