Mobberly Stories – Steve Breazeale, Serving in MobberlyKIDS

Mobberly   -

Steve Breazeale is a devoted volunteer at Mobberly Baptist Church, where he has spent the past five years serving in the children’s ministry alongside his wife.

When his wife was asked to teach kindergarten, she invited Steve to help, and together they began a rewarding journey of teaching young children about Jesus. After one year in the kindergarten class, they transitioned to working with four-year-olds, where their presence—especially Steve’s—became an asset to this ministry. It was noted that the children responded well to the dynamic of a husband and wife teaching team, and Steve’s gentle, playful approach, filled with humor, silly voices, and animated expressions, helped bring Bible stories to life in a way that children could both understand and remember.

As a father and grandfather, Steve has a natural understanding of children and is passionate about creating an environment where they can grow in their faith. He believes deeply in the importance of teaching children not just academic lessons, but lessons of love, faith, and kindness.

For Steve, the most rewarding part of volunteering is witnessing the growth and development of the children in his care—watching them mature and prepare for the next chapter of their spiritual journey, as well as receiving the joy of seeing former students greet him years later with smiles and, in some cases, even witnessing their baptisms.

Steve encourages others in the church, especially older couples, to prayerfully consider stepping into roles where they can support and teach the children of the congregation. He believes that those who serve in this ministry will be blessed far more than they give, as they help shape the next generation of believers. Through his years of service, Steve remains deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the growth of Mobberly’s young families and to see God’s work unfold in their lives.
