Isaiah 37:31 says God’s people will “take root downward and bear fruit upward.”
Our heartbeat at Mobberly Baptist Church is helping people grow. By sinking deep roots in Christ, we can bear fruit in our lives for God’s glory.
For the next three years, our emphasis at Mobberly is “Deeper.” We will be focusing on ways to grow deeper in our walks with Christ.
HOW?
As a church, we will be doing several exercises to incorporate these spiritual practices into our lives.
We will have several church-wide challenges, such as a “De-clutter challenge” where we will be encouraged to de-clutter our house and make donations to the annual Rummage Sale to benefit families throughout East Texas. We will have a prayer and fasting week in the Fall, a “Nap for Jesus” challenge where we take extra time for rest, as well as a “No Rush Weekend” where we identify one weekend in the Spring to slow down and enjoy your friends, family, hobbies, and whatever else is restful!
Our church will be reading through four books together over the course of the year.
Habits of Grace by David Mathis
Praying the Bible by Donald Whitney
Restore the Table by Ryan Rush
The Common Rule by Justin Earley
We will memorize the following four Bible passages as a church throughout 2026.
Matthew 6:33
Psalm 119:105
Matthew 11:28-30
Philippians 4:5-7
Community is a gift God gives us to help us experience Him more deeply. Part of the Deeper through Devotion focus in 2026 will include an opportunity to discuss each of these spiritual practices with your Connect Group and provide encouragement and accountability to one another in the context of our groups.
