Birth through Kindergarten
Our purpose is to help parents buildstrong, spiritual foundations in the lives of their children and to lead children toward a personal and ever-growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Each week children experience God’s word by learning Bible stories, Bible verses, Bible values and Bible skills. Fun, focused activities help children develop positive attitudes toward God, Jesus, the church and others. Our Preschool Team is made up of people who have trusted Christ as their personal Savior and desire to share God’s love with children. All staff have completed our screening process, including a criminal background check. Parents may request a pager so they can be contacted if needed while their child is in our care.
He established a testimony in Jacob and set up a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children so that a future generation — children yet to be born — might know. They were to rise and tell their children so that they might put their confidence in God and not forget God’s works, but keep his commands.
Sunday 9:30 & 11 a.m.
Our first through fourth-grade curriculum is specially designed to lead children toward choosing Jesus as their personal Savior and friend and to help them grow in their relationship with him once this choice is made. We emphasize life application of the truths in God’s word, long-term Bible memory, development of a quiet time and Bible skills. All this is presented in a loving environment where building relationships with children is a priority. Teachers are screened and receive ongoing training for our Children’s Ministry Team.
Sunday 9:30 & 11 a.m.
Our Sunday morning Bible study time, includes contemporary music, Bible skills development and instruction from God’s Word. Our curriculum includes “Walk Through the Bible” and lessons designed to deepen their understanding of the Bible and guide them through the challenge of living out their faith in their daily life. All of this is presented in an exciting environment designed to keep preteens engaged.
Leaps & Bounds
Mobberly’s Leaps and Bounds ministry was created to meet the spiritual education needs of children in their early preschool years through sixth grade who have different learning needs. Many children were not thriving or able to learn in a standard classroom setting for a variety of reasons. Kids with sensory issues, Down syndrome, autism disabilities or handicaps are involved in Leaps and Bounds.
“We recognized that by using a multisensory approach, we could present bible lessons and experiences that would help these kids truly learn about Jesus and God’s love for them and others,” said Suzanne Walker, an associate elementary minister. “Prior to Leaps and Bounds, these kids were in and out of the classroom throughout the morning to accommodate their needs and were missing most of the main teaching time.”
Molly Webb, her husband, Evan, and their young son, Bowen, recently joined Mobberly. A home health pediatric speech language pathologist working with communication and swallowing disorders in children, Molly said God placed it on her heart to work with children with special needs at Mobberly. “I see these children I work with hardly ever leave their homes unless they’re traveling to a doctor’s appointment,” she said. “I prayed about helping with the new special needs class and I was just wowed by what God is doing and His perfect timing.”
“Because of Leaps and Bounds, many parents are able to attend worship gatherings for the first time, or the first time together,” Suzanne said. “Or, parents and families are now able to attend both worship and Connect Groups. Students are thriving in their relationships with one another and building friendships. They are reciting Scripture poems, singing songs about God, growing as individuals and, in some cases, running to get to class. The kids’ desire to be in these rooms is one of the best success indicators we have.”
